The L-10 Electra represented Lockheed's entry into the era of streamlined all-metal airplanes. This aircraft was used by various airlines in Europe and in North and South America. The prototype first flew on 23 February 1934. The Lockheed Electra is perhaps most notable for being the aircraft type in which Amelia Earhart made her ill-fated attempt to fly around the world in 1937.
