Avianca operates five subsidiary airlines: SAM and Helicol in Colombia, OceanAir in Brazil, VIP in Ecuador and Capital Airlines in Nigeria. It has three important business units: Avianca Cargo (Deprisa), Avianca Services and the tour operator DesKubra. Avianca is also planning the establishment of a new airline in Paraguay, which presumably would be called OceanAir Paraguay. During 2008, SAM Colombia, OceanAir in Brazil, VIP and eventually OcenAir Paraguay, will be rebranded as Avianca, consolidating one of the major airlines in the Americas.
