The Stearman PT-17 Was born from a Private venture back in 1934 and was designed to secure the contract for a US Army Air Corp requirement for a new primary trainer. Initial interest came from the US Navy who placed a firm order for the new aircraft in l935. The US Army was slower to commit to the trainer, but as the need for these aircraft increased with the Second World War looming, the Stearman (then pan of the Boeing Airplane Company) was to be produced in the thousands to allow new fighter pilots to be quickly trained forthe upcoming fight.

Kyosho's ARTF mode is of vinually all-balsa construction and is supplied Precovered in the typical Blue and Yellow trainer colour scheme of the day. Even a dummy radial engine is suppied to complete the scale good looks of this outstanding machine. The kit also includes decals, airwheels and all linkages to complete. Instructor and trianee figures must be purchased separately.
