  • The Lockheed L-1011 TriStar is a medium-to-long-range, wide-body trijet airliner built by the Lockheed Corporation. The L-1011-200 variant is an upgraded version of the original L-1011-1, featuring more powerful engines and increased takeoff weight.
  • Gulf Air operated the Lockheed L-1011 TriStar-200 as part of its fleet to replace its earlier-generation Vickers VC10 aircraft. The L-1011-200 variant featured Rolls-Royce RB211-524B engines, which improved its performance in “hot and high” conditions, making it suitable for Gulf Air’s operations in the Middle East.
  • Gulf Air, the national carrier of Bahrain, operated the Lockheed L-1011 TriStar-200 during the 1980s and 1990s. The aircraft played a significant role in Gulf Air’s long-haul fleet, providing reliable service on routes to Europe, Asia, and other destinations.
