• The Convair F-106 Delta Dart is a legendary supersonic interceptor aircraft that Convair developed for the United States Air Force (USAF). Known as the “Ultimate Interceptor,” the F-106 intercepted and destroyed enemy bombers during the Cold War. It first flew on December 26, 1956, and became operational in June 1959. A Pratt & Whitney J75 turbojet engine powers the F-106, allowing it to reach speeds of over 1,300 mph at high altitude.
