- The Diamond DA-40 is a popular four-seat, single-engine light aircraft developed by Diamond Aircraft Industries. Known as the Diamond Star, it first flew in November 1997. Designed as a four-seat variant of the earlier DA20 Katana, the DA-40 is renowned for its composite airframe, advanced avionics, and fuel efficiency.
- Diamond Aircraft developed the DA-40 as a four-seat variant of the earlier DA20 Katana. The prototype first flew on November 5, 1997, and production began in 2000. Over the years, several variants emerged, including the DA40-180, DA40 XLT, and DA40 NG. By the end of 2020, Diamond had delivered over 2,200 DA-40s worldwide. Additionally, the DA-40 became celebrated for its composite airframe, advanced avionics, and fuel efficiency. Consequently, it became a popular choice for both training and personal use.
