Piper PA-23 Aztec
Product Details

  • Piper Aircraft designed the Piper PA-23 Aztec, a highly regarded twin-engine light aircraft, for the general aviation market. Originally, the Stinson Aircraft Company conceived it as the “Twin Stinson.” However, Piper Aircraft took over the project and introduced it as the Apache in 1954. Eventually, in 1959, Piper upgraded the Apache to create the Aztec, incorporating more powerful Lycoming O-540 engines and a swept vertical tail.

Furthermore, the Aztecs quickly gained a reputation for their spacious cabins, accommodating up to six passengers. Moreover, it had an impressive load-carrying capacity. As a result, private owners, flight schools, and even military forces favored the Aztecs. Over the years, Piper introduced several variants. These included the Aztec B with a longer nose and six-seat configuration and the Aztec C with fuel-injected engines.

Additionally, thanks to its performance, versatility, and reliability, pilots consistently favored the Piper PA-23 Aztec. Therefore, Piper produced nearly 7,000 units before ending production in 1982. Consequently, pilots and enthusiasts celebrate the Aztecs for their contributions to general aviation and their dependable reputation. Thus, the Piper PA-23 Aztec’s enduring legacy and proven track record make it a standout choice in the world of light twin-engine aircraft.
